Phytosquam Anti-Dandruff Shampoo

Most of us who suffers from dandruff, be it oily or dry scalp always would need to be in a dilemma to pick between a dandruff shampoo or a shampoo that repairs your hair – I introduce you Phytosquam. Many of the dandruff shampoo out there such as selsun blue, head&shoulders, or clear or any other, contains ingredients such as selenium sulphide, salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc or anti-fungal agents which are high in chemicals. They are even products that contains menthol for anti-itch leaving you with a nice cool feeling. But all these are temporary relief that doesn’t fix your problem.

Many people including me suffer from the itch and the unglam white flakes be it oily scalp or dry scalp. It can be embarrassing! Imagine going out on a first date and the guy sees you with dandruff. How unattractive that can be! #pointsminus for you. LOL

So when Phyto approach me which their new range of anti-dandruff shampoo, I was a little skeptical at first thinking “Are you being serious?

BUT! I decided to give it a try because they claimed to use botanical essence, being paraben-free, fragrance-free and all that.

SO? Let’s see…

Phytosquam – A unique formula that no longer requires to choose between anti-dandruff effectiveness and beautiful hair. This is a range which removes dandruff while providing beauty and vitality to the hair.

I really like the packaging, very sleek and simple!

Phytosquam is a new range that just launched last month and it comes with three products in two different types.

1. Phytosquam Intense – Anti-dandruff intense treatment shampoo

This is to be used before you shower, massage into your dry scalp and leave it in for 5-7 minutes. Like a pre-shampoo. But once you’ve added water and massage throughly, it emulsifies and your rinse it off.

2. Phytosquam Shampoo

– Anti-dandruff moisturizing shampoo ( For softness & Shine )

– Anti-dandruff purifying shampoo ( For radiance & Lightness )

I’ve been using Phytosquam for the 3 months and it was a little bit tricky in the beginning to be able to figure out if I should be replacing my regular shampoo with this or should I switch alternative between my shampoos. The thing about shampoos is that, they don’t usually show immediate effect after 1 wash. It takes a few wash for your hair to sink in and show any side-effects such as dryness or itchiness and what-not.

I personally had really bad itching scalp to a point where even if there isn’t any flake, my scalp would itch like a M*****-F*****. Then there are days where I’ve got tiny flakes, and also days where I have huge flakes. As any other dandruff shampoo, it doesn’t go away with one wash.

So after 3 months, I realised the best way for me to use it is to add Phytosquam in my haircare routine as a treatment shampoo that is used once every 4-5 days as I have dry scalp, and using it everyday would make my scalp too dry and I would need extra treatment to moisturise my scalp back after I shampoo. Bad enough I have damaged, dry, split ends that look like a dead mane which requires extra time after shampooing, not to mention the time that I would need to dry my hair. So I wouldn’t want to take an extra few steps to moisturise my scalp. If that’s the situation I think I would need 2 hours at night just to complete my hair care + skin care. *Ain’t nobody got time for that*

So if you’re looking for a dandruff shampoo that is botanical and gentle on your scalp. I would recommend the Phytosquam range.
